Iron ore daily average deliveries leaving 35 major Chinese ports dipped 50,000 mt from a week ago on new cuts in Tangshan

SHANGHAI, Jul 13 (SMM) – Iron ore daily average deliveries leaving 35 major Chinese ports dipped 50,000 mt from a week ago to 2.56 million mt as new cutback notice was issued in Tangshan of Hebei province.

This brought the inventory across these ports down just 380,000 mt to 140.15 million mt, slower from a drop of 2.54 million mt over last week as Tangshan resumed from previous round of environmental review. Currently most local mills keep purchasing on demand while details of cut for each district remained in discussion.

Over the week, volumes leaving ports in Shandong province inched down amid stormy weather, while delivery departing Fuzhou port in Fujian province dipped sharply on Typhoon Maria.
