SHANGHAI, Jul 9 (SMM) – In Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, some independent steel mills that produced with electric arc furnaces (EAFs) resumed production and sales as of Monday July 9. Some mills remained under inspection or were not allowed to resume as they had failed the checks.
This resumption came after mills undertook drying furnaces in late June, when their rectification works passed checks by the environmental inspection team.
A local mill that produced long steel with iron ore instead of steel scrap, plans to resume production this week, SMM learned.
