Iron ore daily average deliveries leaving Chinese ports recorded a new high in close to five months

SHANGHAI, Jul 6 (SMM) – Iron ore daily average deliveries leaving 35 major Chinese ports recorded a new high in close to five months over the week ended Friday July 6 as demand grew after mills in Tangshan recovered their production, SMM research found.

As of Friday, daily average deliveries leaving these ports jumped 80,000 mt from  a week ago to 2.61 million mt, SMM data showed. This brought the inventory across these ports down 2.54 million mt to 140.53 million mt.

Volumes leaving Jingtang and Caofeidian ports in Tangshan in Hebei province jumped over the week; volumes leaving major ports in Shandong province continued to rise with the inventory at those ports slightly down.
