An estimated 4,000 mt of daily rebar production will be affected as Maanshan Steel suspends rebar rolling lines for two weeks

SHANGHAI, Jun 28 (SMM) – An estimated 4,000 mt of daily rebar production will be affected as Maanshan Iron and Steel plans to suspend some of its rebar rolling lines for two weeks from July 1.

The suspension is due to a short supply of molten iron. Affected production will mainly be seismic resistant bar, with a diameter of 20 mm and length of 12 m, SMM learned.

The rolling lines are scheduled to resume operations on July 15. Rebar production of the plant is estimated at 100,000 mt in July.
