SHANGHAI, Jun 8 (SMM) – As of Friday June 8, daily average iron ore deliveries leaving 35 major Chinese ports decreased 112,000 mt over the week and stood at 2.46 million mt, according to SMM data. This compared with a dip of 6,000 mt in the previous week.

Volumes delivered from ports in Shandong province dipped over the week due to the Shanghai Cooperation Summit (SCO) in Qingdao. The production cuts on environmental concerns in Tangshan in Hebei province in the past two weeks also weighed on deliveries leaving ports. Deliveries delivered from Jingtang and Caofeidian ports fell sharply over the week as rigorous checks on overloading began across Tangshan on Wednesday June 6.

Iron ore inventories across the 35 major Chinese ports as of Friday June 8 shrank 1.03 million mt from 147.56 million mt a week ago and stood at 146.53 million mt.
