Major mills' daily crude steel output up 1.7% in early May

Average daily output of crude steel across 96 major Chinese steel mills during May 1-10 stood at 1.94 million mt, up 1.7% from the level seen during April 21-30.

SHANGHAI, May 21 (SMM) – Average daily output of crude steel across 96 major Chinese steel mills during May 1-10 stood at 1.94 million mt, up 1.7% from the level seen during April 21-30, according to data from China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

Steel inventories at those major steelmakers came in at 13.61 million mt as of May 10, up 9.4% from the level recorded on April 30.
