Aluminium inventory dips on stable downstream consumption

China's inventory of primary aluminium, including SHFE warrants, shrank to 2.12 million mt as of Monday May 21 due to stable downstream consumption, according to SMM data. 

SHANGHAI, May 21 (SMM) – China's inventory of primary aluminium, including SHFE warrants, shrank to 2.12 million mt as of Monday May 21 due to stable downstream consumption, according to SMM data. 

The inventory was down 20,000 mt from 2.14 million mt on Thursday May 17 and down 32,000 mt from 2.25 million mt a week ago. The week-on-week decline was slower from 58,000 mt last Thursday. 

Details are as follows:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 870,000 mt

Shanghai – 448,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 351,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 201,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 134,000 mt

Tianjin – 62,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 29,000 mt

Chongqing – 23,000 mt
