Aluminium inventory shrinks on higher consumption

China's inventory of primary aluminium, including SHFE warrants, shrank to 2.15 million mt as of Monday May 14, according to SMM data.

SHANGHAI, May 14 (SMM) – China's inventory of primary aluminium, including SHFE warrants, shrank to 2.15 million mt as of Monday May 14 due to rising consumption, according to SMM data. 

The inventory was down 42,000 mt from 2.196 million mt on Thursday May 10 and down 56,000 mt from 2.21 million mt on Monday May 7.

Details are as follows:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 880,000 mt

Shanghai – 452,000 mt

Nanhai, Foshan, Guangdong – 377,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 198,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 134,000 mt

Tianjin – 59,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 30,000 mt

Chongqing – 24,000 mt
