Aluminium inventory sees largest week-on-week decline in 2018

China's inventory of primary aluminium, including SHFE warrants, fell 58,000 mt to stand at 2.138 million mt as of Thursday May 17.

SHANGHAI, May 17 (SMM) – China's inventory of primary aluminium, including SHFE warrants, fell 58,000 mt to stand at 2.138 million mt as of Thursday May 17 from 2.196 million mt on Thursday May 10, according to SMM data.

This marked the largest week-on-week decline this year, with relatively low deliveries but stable shipments.

Details are as follows:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 875,000 mt

Shanghai – 450,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 368,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 199,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 130,000 mt

Tianjin – 61,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 29,000 mt

Chongqing – 26,000 mt
