Aluminium inventory edges up on higher prices

China's inventory of aluminium including SHFE warrants stood at 2.231 million mt as of Wednesday April 4.

SHANGHAI, Apr 4 (SMM) – China's inventory of aluminium including SHFE warrants stood at 2.231 million mt as of Wednesday April 4, according to SMM data. While this was down from 2.243 million mt seen last week, it went up slightly from 2.227 million mt recorded earelir this week on Monday April 2. A rebound in spot prices held downstream consumers back from stocking.

Details are as follows:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 901,000 mt

Shanghai – 446,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 425,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 189,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 159,000 mt

Tianjin – 53,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 37,000 mt

Chongqing – 21,000 mt
