SHANGHAI, Mar 20 (SMM) – Output at Beihai Chengde Stainless Steel Ltd will fall by 50,000 mt as it suspends operations for a week to undergo maintenance, SMM learned.
The decline in output is likely to affect the company's #200 stainless steel products as the #200 series accounted for over 50% of its production in February. The #300 series accounted for less than 30% of Beihai Chengde's output in February.
Beihai Chengde's output decline is likely to account for less than 2% of China's supply of the #300 series in March. SMM expects that the current, high inventories of #200 and #300 stainless steel in China will ease in the short term.
