SHANGHAI, Feb 23 (SMM) – The city of Tangshan has issued a staggered steel production plan for the non-heating season this year in a bid to continue its clean air efforts, SMM learned.
Effective from March 16 to November 14, the measure requires all steelmakers in the region to stagger operations with various proportion and frequencies based on their productivity. Those without sewage discharge permits are to shut down.
The production target is set at 9.88 million mt for the non-heating period, according to the measure.
