Flash: Tangshan initiates level II response to air pollution

Tangshan city in Hebei has initiated a level II response to heavily polluted air from 2pm on Wednesday February 7 to 12pm Friday February 9, SMM learned.

SHANGHAI, Feb 7 (SMM) – Tangshan city in Hebei has initiated a level II response to heavily polluted air from 2pm on Wednesday February 7 to 12pm Friday February 9, SMM learned. Under the measure, some steel mills are required to stop their sinter facilities for 48 hours while some are required to halt for 60 hours. Coke plants were asked to prolong the coking process to over 48 hours. Trucks are also banned from moving in and out of the factories.
