China’s steel export up 7% in November

China’s steel exports hit 5.35 million mt in November, up 7.4% on a monthly basis but down 34% from November last year, according to latest data released by Chinese customs.

SHANGHAI, Dec.12 (SMM)-China’s steel exports hit 5.35 million mt in November, up 7.4% on a monthly basis but down 34% from November last year, according to latest data released by Chinese customs.

Total steel exports from January to November amounted to 69.83 million mt, down 30.7% from the same period last year. 

Steel imports, on the other hand, reached 1.14 million mt in November. This brought total imports for the first 11 months of this year to 12.1 million mt, up 0.6% year on year. 

China’s steel net exports for November stood at 4.21 million mt, down by 2.8 million mt from November last year.
