MIIT: Strictly Prohibit Newly-increased Steel Capacity in 2018

Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and National Development and Reform Commission has a meeting with China Iron and Steel Association, clarifying several work plans in 2018.

SHANGHAI, Nov.17 (SMM)-Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and National Development and Reform Commission has a meeting with China Iron and Steel Association, clarifying several work plans in 2018. The first is to implement the Advice of State Council on Resolving Excessive Capacity in Steel Industry, promoting DE-capacity of steel industry. The second is to build a sound working mechanism to prevent resurgence of those illegal steel plants. The third is to urge local government to implement capacity replacement and strictly prohibit newly-increased steel capacity.
