Longs still have confidence to hold their positions due to zinc ore shortages. This will continue to bolster zinc prices.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 31 (SMM) – Longs still have confidence to hold their positions due to zinc ore shortages. This will continue to bolster zinc prices.

When Glencore will restart its zinc mines has been a focus of markets. The company’s CEO said they will hike zinc output once it is believed increasing output will not weigh down zinc prices.

Zinc prices maintained upward momentum in 2017, thanks to the fundamental story. LME zinc refreshed a 10-year high, and SHFE zinc jumped above 27,000 yuan per tonne, up over 20% so far this year.
