SHANGHAI, Sept. 28 (SMM) – Environmental checks affected not only capacity in operation, but also new capacity in aluminum processing industry, SMM learned.

Aluminum Billet Gains More Favor than Ingot on Environmental Factor, SMM Reports 

Several new aluminum processing projects have been called off by local governments. 

SMM Analysis of Dramatic Fall in China August Aluminum Semis Exports

For example, one processing plant in Shandong said its phase II project has been called to a halt by local government and will not enter operations anytime soon.
