Environmental factor has turned aluminum extrusion producers in Guangdong away from aluminum ingot to billet, driving up processing fees for billet.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 27 (SMM) – Environmental factor has turned aluminum extrusion producers in Guangdong away from aluminum ingot to billet, driving up processing fees for billet.

A large number of aluminum extrusion producers in Guangdong have shut down melting & casting facilities due to environmental checks. This has forced extrusion producers to abandon aluminum ingot in favor of billet.

Processing fees for aluminum billet were mainly between 270-400 yuan/tonne on Wednesday.
