SHANGHAI, Sept. 27 (SMM) – Aluminum billet processing fees will rise in Shandong along with fading of impact from environmental checks and consumption recovery, SMM predicts.
Aluminum billet output in Shandong fell sharply as output cuts at Weiqiao Group affected molten aluminum supply to nearby processing plants. Environmental checks hurt aluminum billet demand. Hence, supply and demand both weakened.
However, supply and demand are now beginning to improve.
Processing fees are now around 350 yuan/tonne.
