SHANGHAI, Aug. 17 (SMM) – Tangshan government announced to advance completion date for coal-to-gas switch at local rolling mills, which source steel billets as raw material.
The date has been advanced to Sept. 1, and those which fails to complete the switch will be required to shut down for upgrading.

The news, coupled with rising futures price, sent up spot steel price in Tangshan market, with bilet price offers at 3,820-3,830 yuan per tonne. Prices are expected to keep rising in the afternoon business.
