China, South Korea Crude Steel production increase in June

Chinese crude steel production for the month of June this year was 73.2 million metric tons, an increase of 5.7% compared to June 2016, according to the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

LONDON (Scrap Register): Chinese crude steel production for the month of June this year was 73.2 million metric tons, an increase of 5.7% compared to June 2016, according to the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

Japan has produced 8.4 million metric tons of crude steel in June 2017, a decrease of 4.3% compared to June 2016. South Korea produced 5.9 million metric tons of crude steel in June 2017, an increase of 7.7% compared to June 2016.

Global crude steel production has increased 3.2 percent year-on-year to 141.0 million metric tons during the month of June this year.

Global crude steel production was 836.0 million metric tons in the first six months of 2017, up by 4.5% compared to the same period in 2016. Asia produced 576.8 million metric tons of crude steel, an increase of 4.8% over the first half of 2016.
