SHANGHAI, Jul. 26 (SMM) – Power and steel plants in China, in order to reduce cost, still imported large amounts of coal from Mongolia and Russia in June, though the country’s government hopes to reduce coal imports.

NDRC: China Eliminates 111 Mln tonnes of Coal Capacity in H1 2017

China imported 3.71 million tonnes of coal from Mongolia in June, up 58.9% YoY, and imports from Russia expanded 41.7% YoY to 2.57 million tonnes.
