The National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC) eliminated 111 million tonnes of coal capacity in the first half of 2017, or 74% of annual capacity elimination target, according to stcn.com.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 19 (SMM) - The National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC) eliminated 111 million tonnes of coal capacity in the first half of 2017, or 74% of annual capacity elimination target, according to stcn.com.

China Power and Steel Plants Import Large Amounts of Coal in June, Ignoring Government’s Hope

Capacity elimination pushed healthy development of the coal industry, improving business condition at the industry. Profit at domestic large coal companies was 123.4 billion yuan in the first five months of the year, a jump of 120 billion yuan on a yearly basis. Meanwhile, environment for the industry also improved.
