Motive Battery Promotions to Come Out Again in China, SMM Reports

Motive battery producers, facing sluggish end-user demand and rising inventories, were planning to launch price promotions again.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 21 (SMM) – Motive battery producers in Jiangsu, facing sluggish end-user demand and rising inventories, held operating rate at around 80% at present, which was flat at June’s level. Those producers were planning to launch price promotions again.

Producers in Jiangxi suffered the same fate and kept operating rate at around 90%.

Motive battery demand fell short of market anticipation in peak season, and lead price also dropped. As such, distributors in Fujian reduced purchase interest, and battery producers, holding operating rate at around 80%, purchased raw material based on orders.
