TAIPEI (Scrap Register): Prices for Taiwanese containerized HMS # 1&2 80:20 imports gained by another $02 a ton to reach $250 a ton during the week ended June 16, according to the figures from The Steel Index.

Prices for imported ISRI grade scrap increased this week into Taiwan as suppliers continued to raise their offer levels and although deals were concluded, volumes have remained limited.

Taiwanese mills have been happy to pay close to the offer prices from suppliers as they believe these are representative of current global scrap prices.

Currently supply seems to be tight from the US and North Asia, hence resulting in the increase of offer levels.
