Japan Zinc Shipments Fall Remarkably January-May

Japan’s Ministry of Finance reported June 29 the country’s zinc exports increased 1.4% year-on-year to 6,232,401 kg in May, according to wenhua.com.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 29 (SMM) - Japan’s Ministry of Finance reported June 29 the country’s zinc exports increased 1.4% year-on-year to 6,232,401 kg in May, according to wenhua.com.

Total zinc exports by Japan declined 17.8% year-on-year to 30,980,045 kg in the first five months of this year.

As of Friday this week, ordinary domestic brands were quoted at a discount of 0-150 yuan/mt against the 2610 contract, high-priced brands at a premium of 70 yuan/mt against the 2609 contract, and Tianjin cargoes at a discount of 50 yuan/mt against Shanghai cargoes, with quotes rolled over this week.
