Hualian Zinc & Indium to Put on Stream 100,000-tpy Zinc Smelting Project in 2018

Yunnan Wenshan Hualian Zinc and Indium Co. will put online 100,000-tpy zinc & 60-tpy indium smelting technical improvement project in the first half of 2018, according to cnmn.com.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 27 (SMM) - Yunnan Wenshan Hualian Zinc and Indium Co. will put online 100,000-tpy zinc & 60-tpy indium smelting technical improvement project in the first half of 2018, according to cnmn.com.

The project, with total investment of 2.525 billion yuan, will realize 100% self-sufficiency rate. Its composite energy consumption will be the lowest of the industry.

Zhuzhou Smelter to Build 8-10 Bln Yuan Copper-Lead-Zinc Base

It was commenced in May 2016, and will enter trial production in December 2017.

According to the latest customs data, China’s total exports of die-casting zinc alloy from January to February reached 689.33 mt, up slightly by 0.9 percentage points YoY on a cumulative basis; imports, however, totaled 48.11 million mt, down 35.46 percentage points YoY on a cumulative basis. Overall, China’s die-casting zinc alloy trade from January to February showed a pattern of slightly higher exports and a significant pullback in imports.
