SHANGHAI, Jun. 26 (SMM) – Zhuzhou Smelter Group will construct a copper-lead-zinc base in Changning, Hunan Province, rednet.cn reported.

Zinc Prices to Hold Strong This Week, SMM Foresees

This project, with total investment of 8-10 billion yuan, covers 300,000-tpy of zinc greenfield, 200,000-tpy of copper brownfield and transformation of 100,000-tpy of lead capacity.

Zinc Smelters to Hike Zinc Concentrate TCs, SMM Reports

It expects to come online in 2018. Environmental assessment is expected to receive reply this week.

Copper Discounts in Shanghai Under Pressure as Supply Outpaces Demand

Looking ahead, spot copper discounts in Shanghai are expected to remain under pressure. Despite some improvement today, supply continues to dominate.
