Kobe Steel is optimistic over automotive aluminum demand, citing stricter environmental protection regulations.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 22 (SMM) –Kobe Steel is optimistic over automotive aluminum demand, citing stricter environmental protection regulations.

Since cars made of aluminum could reduce weight and improve fuel efficiency, increasingly stricter environmental protection requirement will boost aluminum use in cars, Kobe Steel said.

Kobe Steel predicts that automotive aluminum consumption will grow 6-7 folds by 2025 compared with 2016’s level.
