Zinc Spot Premiums Expand in Shanghai as Supplies Tighten, SMM Reports

Spot premiums expanded 60-100 yuan per tonne over July zinc on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) on June 8 from June 7, SMM learns.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 8 (SMM) - Spot premiums in Shanghai expanded 60-100 yuan per tonne over July zinc on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) on June 8 from June 7, SMM learns.

Spot zinc supplies in the market tightened with consumption of imported zinc.

Trading in Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong was slack since downstream buyers lacked interest in buying.

Total zinc inventories across seven Chinese markets stood at 268,900 mt as of February 21, up 5,800 mt from Friday February 18, and 14,600 mt from Monday February 14.
