What’s Aluminum Capacity Swap Policy? SMM Reports

China rolled out a capacity swap program for aluminum industry in a bid to tackle severe overcapacity in the industry. 

SHANGHAI, May 16 (SMM) – China rolled out a capacity swap program for aluminum industry in a bid to tackle severe overcapacity in the industry. 

Under this program, any new project will only be approved by being “swapped” with an
eliminated project of the same capacity.

In principle, new aluminum projects are not allowed under any other name.
