Malaysia government has started a preliminary investigation against, China, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand origin cold rolled Stainless Steel imports.

KAULA LUMPUR (Scrap Register): Malaysia government has started a preliminary investigation against, China, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand origin cold rolled Stainless Steel imports. This decision is taken on the back of complaint received to the International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) requesting an anti dumping probe on cold rolled Stainless Steel.

In the petition it is stated that these countries are dumping cold rolled Stainless Steel to Malaysia at price which is much lower than the domestic prices. In the petition it is also claimed that imports form alleged market has increased and they suffered material injury.

“The Government has considered the evidence of dumping, injury and causal link and decided to initiate a preliminary investigation on imports of CRSS from the alleged markets,” the government stated.

In this investigation, Miti will be providing a questionnaire to interested parties like importers, foreign producers, exporters and association. Others can also request for questionnaire, which will have to be on or before May 29. Interested parties can also provide additional support evidence by June 15.
