NEW DELHI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import weekly average prices jumped during the week ended April 14 this year, while India's major plastic scrap prices on the Scrap Register Price Index showed a mixed trend.

The index rose by 13 a ton on the week to $295 a ton. Demand for Indian imports of containerized shredded scrap remained muted, with sources reporting that increased freight prices were limiting mill’s ability to purchase imported scrap.

Prices did increase on the week, largely as the global scrap market saw rises last week, and the import market reflected this.

The plastic scrap commodities like ABS(bayr), Acrylic, C.P.W, HD Blowing, Hips(Baff) and PVC resin desi showed an up trend during the week, while API, HD Moulding (Colour), LLDP Blowing and PVC pest grade declined during the week.
