SHANGHAI, Apr. 26 (SMM) - Teck Resources Limited’s zinc output at its Red Dog mine fell 23% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2017 because of adverse weather and production interruption caused by power outage, according to the company’s quarterly report.

Lead production declined 11% on a yearly basis. Higher lead grade offset such declines.

The company lowers zinc production target at the mine to 475,000-500,000 tonnes in 2017 due to lower ore quality and equipment breakdown, compared to 545,000-565,000 tonnes previously expected. Lead production target was left at 110,000-115,000 tonnes.
