NEW DELHI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import weekly average prices climbed during the week ended March 31 this year, while India's major plastic scrap prices on the Scrap Register Price Index showed a mixed trend.

Indian containerized scrap import prices increased by $10 a ton during the week to $282 a ton CFR Nhava Sheva port. 

Indian imports of scrap continued to fade as mills still preferred domestic scrap over imported material this week. For the past few months now the domestic market for scrap has appeared strong.

The plastic scrap commodities like ABS(bayr), Acrylic, C.P.W, HD Blowing, Hips(Baff) and PVC resin desi showed a down trend during the week, while API, HD Moulding (Colour), LLDP Blowing and PVC pest grade dained during the week.
