NEW DELHI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import weekly average prices shot up during the week ended February 10 this year, while India's major plastic scrap prices on the Scrap Register Price Index showed an up trend. 

Indian containerized scrap import saw an increase of $20 a ton during the week to reach $255 a ton CFR Nhava Sheva port during the week. The rise has come on the back of the recent spike in Turkish scrap prices.

HMS 80:20 ex-UK cargoes were heard around $250 a ton late in the week, a $7 a ton increase from levels heard at the start of the week. Recent data has indicated that scrap imports into India saw a 55% increase over December 2016.

The plastic scrap commodities like ABS(bayr), Acrylic, HD Moulding (Colour), Hips(Baff), PVC resin desi, API, C.P.W, HD Blowing, LLDP Blowing and PVC pest grade gained during the week.
