China Nickel Ore Inventories Keep Falling, with Prices Expected Stable in Pre-Holiday Market, SMM Predicts

SHANGHAI, Jan. 24 (SMM) – Nickel ore inventories at seven major Chinese ports kept dropping in the week ending Jan. 20, Shanghai Metals Market reported. 

Nickel ore inventories at seven major Chinese ports were down 380,000 tonnes on a weekly basis, according to SMM data.

Last week, trading sentiment in nickel ore market waned sharply as market players started leaving for the 2017 Chinese New Year holiday, SMM survey finds. 

Nickel ore prices in China’s domestic market are estimated to hold stable in the last trading week before the upcoming holiday, with light trading sentiment expected, SMM predicts.
