SHFE Nickel Closes Higher (2017-1-16)

SHFE 1705 nickel opened at RMB 87,360/mt and finally closed at RMB 86,480/mt.
SHANGHAI, Jan. 16 (SMM) – On Monday, SHFE 1705 nickel opened at RMB 87,360/mt and then fluctuated above the moving average. During the afternoon trading, SHFE 1705 nickel dived to RMB 85,810/mt and finally closed at RMB 86,480/mt, up 1.44%. Trading volumes fell 77,000 to 563,000 lots and positions dropped 2,300 to 622,000.
SHFE 1705 nickel will test support at the 10-day moving average on Monday’s night trading.
SHFE 1701 nickel opened at RMB 85,000/mt and then dropped. During the afternoon trading, SHFE 1705 nickel dipped slightly to RMB 84,000/mt and finally closed at RMB 85,000/mt, up 1.46%. Positions rose 324 to 39,444 and trading volumes increased 348 to 1,356 lots. Settlement price of the contract was RMB 85,172/mt with delivery volumes at 19,722.
