Chinese Crude Steel production increases 5 percent in November

Chinese crude steel production increased 5 percent to 66.3 million metric tons during the month of November this year, as per the latest figures from the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

LONDON (Scrap Register): Chinese crude steel production increased 5 percent to 66.3 million metric tons during the month of November this year, as per the latest figures from the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

According to worldsteel, global crude steel production was 132.4 million metric tons in November this year, an increase of 5 percent from November 2015.

Elsewhere in Asia, Japan produced 8.6 million metric tons of crude steel in November 2016, a decrease of 1.4% compared to November 2015.

Global crude steel capacity utilisation ratio during November 2016 was 69.6%. It was 67.1% in November 2015. The November 2016 capacity utilisation ratio is 0.1 percentage point lower than the October 2016 ratio.
