LONDON (Scrap Register): Northern Europe hot rolled cold (HRC) steel prices remained stable week-on-week at €452 per ton in the week ended October 14, as per the latest figures released by The Steel Index.
HRC offers in the North European market were heard between €460-480 a ton, while most trades were concluded closer to the €450 a ton mark.
Availability of material for this quarter is tightening, with some market participants across the region reporting HRC delivery lead-times at 10-12 weeks.
At the end of last week the European Commission announced provisional anti-dumping duties for Chinese plate and HRC imports, setting them up at 65.1-73.7% and 13.2-22.6% respectively.
European HRC prices remained largely stable this week at the level established at the beginning of October.
In Southern Europe, HRC deals were concluded between €420-430 a ton, with larger buyers achieving prices at the lower end of this range.
