NEW DELHI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import average prices climbed during the week ended November 04, while India's major plastic scrap prices on the Scrap Register Price Index showed an up trend.

Indian containerized scrap import prices saw a slight increase of $6 a ton to $238 a ton Nhava Sheva port. Finished steel producers have been able to increas their prices on the back of demand increasing for both steel and scrap.

Market sources indicated cargoes from the Middle East being offered around $240 a ton CFR basis and for shredded material around $245 a ton.

The market is clearly riding on the back of global scrap price increases as offers were even heard around the $260 a ton mark for shredded material.

The major plastic scrap commodities traded higher on Scrap Register Price Index during the week. The plastic scrap commodities like ABS(bayr), Acrylic, API, C.P.W, HD Moulding (Colour) and Hips(Baff) advanced during the week.
