Base Metals to Get Boost from Weak Dollar, SMM Says

Base metal prices on the SHFE are expected to draw support from a weak dollar on Tuesday, Shanghai Metals Market foresees.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 6 (SMM) – Base metal prices on the SHFE are expected to draw support from a weak dollar on Tuesday, Shanghai Metals Market foresees. 

“US reported a slew of positive economic data, but the dollar remains weak, and this is expected to support base metal prices,” SMM says.

Copper: 47,900-48,800 yuan per tonne
Aluminum: 13,200-13,400 yuan per tonne
Lead: 20,000-20,500 yuan per tonne
Zinc: 22,850-23,380 yuan per tonne
Tin: 143,500-146,000 yuan per tonne
Nickel: 94,500-97,000 yuan per tonne

Note: Prices all above are for most-actively traded contract on the SHFE.
