ANKARA (Scrap Register): Turkish HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap import weekly average prices (CFR Iskenderun Port, Turkey) stayed flat at $212 a ton during the week ended October 07, as per the latest figures from the Steel Index.
Of the latest deals, a US East Coast-based recycler sold a mixed cargo which normalized at $215 a ton under TSI’s methodology.
Meanwhile, two UK-origin cargoes were reported, one destined for a Marmara-based mill at an average price of $214 a ton for 10kt HMS #1&2 80:20 and 15kt shredded material.
This buyer was also active earlier in the week, with a Beneluxorigin cargo booked for October-end loading. That level was slightly lower than the most recent cargoes, in line with the $210 a ton index print earlier this week.
