MUMBAI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import monthly average prices down 2.6 percent to $232.40 during the month of October.

Indian buyers were busy in October with a number of cargoes on offer early in the month. Despite booking activity, containerized scrap import prices (CFR Nhava Sheva port) fell $11 a ton to $230 a ton.

Despite sentiment turning positive, the rest of the month saw domestic steel prices hold steady, ensuring scrap import prices remained close to the $230 a ton mark.
