ANKARA (Scrap Register): New anti-dumping and countervailing duty petitions against hot rolled coil imports from China, Russia and Ukraine have been filed by the steel mills of Turkey. The petition is currently under the evaluation phase by the Turkish Economy Ministry.
A previous anti-dumping probe into HRC imports from China, Japan, France, Russia, Ukraine, Romania and Slovakia filed in January 2015 was terminated without any measures as petitioners withdrew their complaint within the investigation period.
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data, Turkey imported 262,245 mt of hot rolled coil from Ukraine in H1, while imports from China reached 20,285 mt. n the first half of 2016, HRC imports from Russia rose by 25% year-on-year to 790,075 mt.
