SHANGHAI, Jun. 24 (SMM) – SHFE 1608 copper opened higher at RMB 36,550/mt last night and advanced to RMB 36,760/mt. The contract ended at RMB 36,660/mt, up RMB 460/mt. Positions were up 1,240.
On Friday, SHFE 1608 copper started at RMB 36,550/mt and sank to RMB 35,850/mt. The contract finally closed at RMB 35,970/mt, falling RMB 230/mt. Positions were down 30,538. Positions of all SHFE copper contracts fell 19,528 to 630,000 with trading volumes at 890,000 lots. Positions for SHFE 1609 copper were up 11,824.
SHFE 1608 copper may consolidate at the 40-day moving average this evening.
