US Steel shipments rise 5% m/m in March

United States steel shipments rose during March, as per the latest figures from American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).

NEW YORK (Scrap Register): United States steel shipments rose during March, as per the latest figures from American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
 
According to AISI, US steel mills shipped 7,270,793 net tons, a 5% increase from the 6,925,596 net tons shipped in February and a 12.8% decrease from the 8,337,578 net tons shipped in March 2014.
 
Shipments year-to-date in 2015 are 21,959,131 net tons, a 7.9 percent decrease as compare to 2014 shipments of 23,851,251 net tons for three months.
 
A comparison of March shipments to the previous month of February shows the following changes: cold rolled sheets, up 10 percent, hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip, up 8 percent and hot rolled, up 5 percent.
