Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange continues to decline for the sixth consecutive day

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to decline for the sixth consecutive day on Thursday on lower rates for panamax and supramax vessels.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to decline for the sixth consecutive day on Thursday on lower rates for panamax and supramax vessels.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 2 points to 573 points on Thursday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
