Middle East crude steel output surged higher by 12% in Nov '14

According to most recent data published by the World Steel, the crude steel production by the Middle East region increased by 11.6% during the month of November year-on-year.

ABU DHABI (Scrap Monster): According to most recent data published by the World Steel Association (World Steel), the crude steel production by the Middle East region increased by 11.6% during the month of November year-on-year.

The total crude steel production by Iran during November was 1.459 Million tonnes, increasing by 6.1% in comparison with the November 2013 production of 1.375 Million tonnes. Qatar produced 242,000 tonnes of crude steel, higher by 49.4% when compared to 162,000 tonnes production achieved during November 2013. Meantime, Saudi Arabia's crude steel output surged over the year to 538,000 tonnes during November this year. The total crude steel production by the UAE during November was 237,000 tonnes, down by 4.7% in comparison with the November 2013 production of 249,000 tonnes.

Iran's total crude steel output had totaled 1.444 Million tonnes in October '14. When compared to this, Nov'14 output is considerably higher. Qatar's production dropped slightly from the previous month. Saudi Arabian output remained mostly flat month-on-month during November ‘14. UAE's November '14 output rose significantly when compared with 225,000 tonnes during October.

The following table provides cumulative crude steel output for the first eleven months in 2014 in comparison with those during same period in 2013.
