Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange drops to below 1, 000 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels dropped to below 1,000 points on Thursday mainly on lower capesize and panamax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels dropped to below 1,000 points on Thursday mainly on lower capesize and panamax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by 17 points or 1.72 percent to 974 points.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
